For years, the Saudi nuclear program has proceeded at a nominal rate and publicly has been focused on peaceful civilian use of nuclear power. With the shift of Saudi Arabia into the Chinese Camp, the reasonable question is raised, what now for the Saudi Nuclear Program? There was at least a tacit understanding that Saudi Arabia was protected from Iran by the United States, and in some ways by the unacknowledged, but reasonably assumed Israeli nuclear capability built to safeguard Israel from an Iranian nuclear attack.
