The Navy has a Math Problem
The requirement is for 2.33 attack boats/year out of 2 yards. They are getting 1.3 while giving away 5 Virginia Class to Australia and not including the Columbia Class in the throughput calculation
The Navy Dilemma is proper basic throughput calculation in the “as is/to be” state of two facilities: HII/NNS in Virginia and General Dynamics/Electric Boat in Connecticut.
The goal is 2.33 attack boats/year, they are receiving 1.3. I.e. they are going backwards in the math.
