U.S. capabilities overwhelm everything in Venezuela
From sonic weapons to a total failure of Chinese radars, American capabilities dominated
It is best to let the dust settle a bit on events before reviewing, analyzing, and interpreting what happened. First reports are usually wrong.
The details of the January 3, 2026 raid on Venezuela that captured and extracted now-former leader Nicolas Maduro and his wife Cilia are still limited. Precise information has not yet been revealed and that is a good thing - the U.S. may need to use similar tactics, techniques, and procedures, soon to defend America again.
The outcome was astonishingly effective. The removal of Maduro and what appears to be a complete and overwhelming success with only a few U.S. personnel wounded.
The reports of a sonic weapon that overwhelmed the entire guard force in and around Fort Tiuna showed a refinement in the capability of Long Range Acoustic Devices (LRAD) that have been rumored and conjectured upon since the Cold War.
The entire Chinese/Russian air defense radar system, including Chinese JY-27A “Anti-Stealth” radars was useless and much of the infrastructure was blown to pieces.
Only a handful of American forces were on the ground for the tactical assault, the number has been identified as around 20.
Hundreds of Cuban, Venezuelan, and possibly Iranian, Russian, and Chinese special guards were killed. Very little collateral damage or casualties have been reported.
As opposed to Iraq, where everyone in leadership was removed, the model of post-war Japan and Germany has been instituted where those remaining in office understand clearly that they too can be removed if they do not cooperate.
What does this all mean for the future?
All countries that want to behave in a malign manner toward the U.S. are terrified that they might receive the same treatment if they continue their ways.
It also means any country that wants to emulate the U.S. will have to spend an enormous amount of wealth and decades in the gym to even come close.
Here is a discussion of the raid by Patrick Bet-David and his guests as well as a media report on the failure of the Chinese air defense systems. A map of the key points in Caracas, Venezuela has been posted for orientation of the area of operations.
