Surely we all should be preppers,
How supremely smart to prepare;
Have essentials on hand
In multiples, understand,
Sufficient for everyday care.
Stock abundant food in the pantry,
Include staples, bulk rice and beans;
Stored water required
And filters desired
To ensure water sources are clean.
When calamity strikes, inevitably,
You’ll discover too late with dismay,
Crucial items you need
Are missing, so pay heed
To advice from the experts and obey.
Checking over your list for omissions,
Here’s one of eternal significance:
It must top the list,
And cannot be missed –
Christ’s salvation, don’t take a chance!
While it’s smart to prep for disaster,
Wiser still to get right with God.
Should disaster lead to death,
You can say with dying breath,
“Coming, Lord, all prepped for Your abode!”
